| SERVICES and ACTIVITIES
KENDAL UNITARIAN CHAPEL
Services take place each Sunday at 11.00am at
our Chapel
in Market Place, Kendal.
All our Services are followed by refreshments served
in the Schoolroom
and is a great opportunity for everyone to get together for a chat.
OUR WORSHIP SERVICE
At the beginning of our Service our Minister invites
a member
of the congregation to light our Chalice Candle. This is followed
by words of welcome. At Kendal we then sing in unison "Spirit of
Life".
Generally there are hymns, readings, prayers and a short
piece
of music to accompany a time of private meditation, prayer or reflection.
Readings are taken from many different sources. They
may be taken from
a variety of different religious scriptures or they may be taken from
various
secular sources. As Unitarians we draw from the wisdom of all faiths.
SPECIAL SERVICES
Throughout the year we have a variety of special services
in addition to
Easter, Harvest Festival and Christmas. For example, we have had a Flower
Communion Service, Summer Service, Inter-faith Service and many others.
